The 3rd game saw the Dodgers get bested by the Wheeling Reds. It was a tough loss for the Dodgers as they managed only 1 hit against the Reds pitcher and that was a seeing eye grounder by Mike (Dutch) Eddy. The Reds pitcher threw so good that 13 outs were recorded in the infield. Anthony Roman started for the Dodgers and threw a good game but had virtually no support. Shawn Cox came on in relief in the 7th and shut down the Reds 1-2-3 with 2 K's. however, the Dodgers looked dead and never mounted an offensive threat.
