Dodgers 5 RGMV Kings 4
Bonhomme & Massri hold off Kings
The Dodgers sent Harry Bonhomme to the mound to complete the 2 game series against the RGMV Kings. Bonhomme, like Chris Bethell a game before, had early problems giving up 2 runs on 2 hits. Bonhomme would settle down and hold the Kings to no runs through the next 4 innings giving up no hits while striking out 5. The Dodgers Offense began early in the bottom of the first. Joey Roman lead off the game with a walk and reached second on a wild pitch.
Roman was drivin in by an Ed Wash Sacrafice fly. Bethell and Willie Agosto had back to back hits and with two outs, Bethell was drivin in by a costly Kings error. Agosto lead off the fourth inning with a walk. With one out he was drivin in by a Gabe Lettieri double. With Lettieri running on the pitch, Paul Kowalski laced a single up the middle to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead. In the top of the sixth the Dodgers called on reliever Mike Massri out of the bullpen. Massri struck out the first batter he faced. A Kings single and a walk, gave place to a double over the center fielders head scoring 2 runs to tie the game at 4. Massri would leave the runner stranded at second, striking out the next two batters he faced. In the bottom of the sixth Chris Bethell took the game into his own hands. Bethell singled to put the go ahead run on base, and would eventually score on a stolen base and a couple errors. In the seventh Massri put the Kings down 1-2-3. Massri recorded the win going 2 innings giving up 2 runs while striking out 5.
