Bethell Beats Kings
Chris Bethell took the mound in the first game against the Kings. Bethell had problems early on giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, and a walk, in the first inning. After that inning Bethell would settle down and hold to Kings offense to 3 hits. Meanwhile the Dodgers were coming alive. In the second, Mike Massri laced a 400 foot homerun to left field, to get the Dodgers on the board. With 1 out in the third Gabe Lettieri started the rally with a hard single up the middle. After an Error and an Ed Wash walk, Bethell helped his own cause with a single scoring 2 runs. With 2 outs Brian Holden hit a single up the middle scoring two more runs to give the Dodgers a 5-1 Lead. Jason Marrone lead off the sixth with a walk. After stealing 2 bases, Harry Bonnhomme drove in another run to put the Kings away. In the bottom of the seventh the Kings would push Bethell for one more run on a hit, a stolen base, a wild pitch, followed by a RBI groundout. Leading the offensive attack for the Dodgers were Massri and Holden with 2 hits apiece, Lettieri, Bethell, Bonhomme, and wash helped out with a hit each.
