MV Dodgers 9 LI Pirates 8

The Dodgers sent Harry Bonhomme to the mound to deal with the strong Pirates offense. Bonhomme retired the first three batters he faced in the first, but was pushed for 2 runs in the second. The Dodgers offense wasted no time and scored 2 runs to tie the game in the bottom half of the second with hits by Gabe Lettieri, Chris Bethell, Mike Wolters, Brian Holden, and Danny Cardenas(left). The lead was short lived as the Pirates took advantage of two Dodger errors and scored 4 runs to take a 6-2 lead. Holden relieved Bonhomme and got out of the inning. Holden was pushed for another run in 4th and Dodgers were down by 5. In the bottom of the fourth the Dodgers captain Chris Bethell took command and laced his team high 4th homerun of the year to cut the lead to 4. After a single by Holden, and a hit batter, Jason Conlisk belted a doulbe off the wall in right center field scoring two more runs. He was drivin in by Paul Miceli RBI single. After a scoreless 5th Ed Wash and Lettieri lead off bottom half of the inning with a walk apiece. They were drivin in by a Mike Wolters Single. The Dogers took a one run lead into the 7th inning and called on reliever Jason Conlisk. Conlisk retired the first two batters he faced, but after two scene eyed singles the Pirates tied the game with a RBI single. In the bottom of the 7th, Miceli lead off with a walk, followed by a Wash single and a sacrafice fly by Lettieri scoring Miceli to win the game.

Danny Cardenas slides and breaks up a potential double play by sliding into the LI Pirates shortstop.
